One of our favorite places in Napa to visit is the Sterling Winery.  We took a tram up the mountain to tour the Winery for it's captivating views. Eric was entertained in learning the art of coopering. Coopering the cask bands are done when making wine barrels. We learned about the differences of the woods and their regions used for barrels in making the right blend of flavors in winemaking.  Self guided tours with audio or videotapes narrate the various stages of winemaking. We could ponder at our own pace and never before had we realized how much detail there is to making wines until visiting the beautiful Sterling Winery.
